GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS

The bad news first, when the Hot Dog Kids were in So. Calif. a week or so ago, we went to our favorite place for the best hot & spicy polish dogs anywhere, The Wiener Factory in Sherman Oaks, CA and it was Closed. It had closed December 31, 2007. We could not believe it, but it’s true. My first visit was in the early 1970’s. I will miss this place a lot. But now the good news. Tal Shoemake says that The Wiener Factory was his favorite too. He has dreamed of opening a Hot Dog Stand and he’s found the place on Foothill Blvd. in the La Canada-Flintridge area. From the old Wiener Factory location get on the Ventura Fwy (134) go east to the Glendale Fwy (2) and go north to Foothill Blvd. and turn right and Look for The Doghouse it’s only about 18 miles. To go 18 miles in California for a great Hot Dog, that’s nothing! Now Tal says he plans to have an extensive menu of hot dog choices, including chili cheese dogs, red cabbage dogs, coleslaw dogs, and polish sausage. If these are anything like The Wiener Factory Dogs were, The Doghouse is going to do just fine. So if you are in the area or not check out The Doghouse opening in April 2008. Be sure and let us know what you think. E-Mail us at hotdogkids@gmail.com

The chili is phenominal. They have this worker named Travis. Little confused, but absolutely dashing.
