The Best Hot Dogs are not always found at the Local Hot Dog Stand
Today you can find some of the best and famous Hot Dogs and Chili Dogs at BaseballParks, Football Stadiums, Ice Hockey Arenas, Little League Games, Nascar Events, Soccer Games. Almost any indoor or outdoor event Craft Fairs, Art Festivals, Music events, PublicParks, Play Grounds and I'll bet you will find Hot Dogs in Bill and Hilary Clinton home as well. You might also find some Hot Dogs at John and Cindy McCain home. I don't know about Barack and Michelle Obama, but I think they must love Hot Dogs as well.At a lot of these events you’ll also fine Politics and fine Beer and Wines from all around the world as well as a old style soft drinks and new specialty soda pop as well. All of these drinks go great with any type of Hot Dog.
The bad news first, when the Hot Dog Kids were in So. Calif. a week or so ago, we went to our favorite place for the best hot & spicy polish dogs anywhere, The Wiener Factory in Sherman Oaks, CA and it was Closed. It had closed December 31, 2007. We could not believe it, but it’s true.My first visit was in the early 1970’s.I will miss this place a lot. But now the good news.Tal Shoemake says that The Wiener Factory was his favorite too. He has dreamed of opening a Hot Dog Stand and he’s found the place on Foothill Blvd. in the La Canada-Flintridge area. From the old Wiener Factory location get on the Ventura Fwy (134) go east to the Glendale Fwy (2) and go north toFoothill Blvd. and turn rightand Look for The Doghouse it’s only about 18 miles. To go 18 miles in Californiafor a great Hot Dog, that’s nothing! Now Tal says he plans to have an extensive menu of hot dog choices, including chili cheese dogs, red cabbage dogs, coleslaw dogs, and polish sausage. If these are anything like The Wiener Factory Dogs were, The Doghouse is going to do just fine.So if you are in the area or not check out The Doghouse opening in April 2008.Be sure and let us know what you think.
